Pippin
Written by Stephen Schwarz and Roger O. Hirson
Directed by Laura Bonner
6 – 10 October 2026

Audience guidance: Pippin explores mature themes including political corruption, war and death, and contains some sexual themes and references. Recommended for ages 13+.

A rarely performed musical gem from Stephen Schwartz, the legendary composer and lyricist behind Wicked and Godspell.

Young Prince Pippin is searching for something more. Hungry for an extraordinary life, he sets out to find fulfilment through war, power, passion and revolution – all under the watchful eye of the mysterious Leading Player and a troupe of performers who seem determined to steer his story towards their own spectacular conclusion.

Funny, dark, dazzling and more than a little bonkers, Pippin is a musical unlike almost anything else. Beneath its theatrical razzle-dazzle lies a surprisingly moving story about ambition, identity and the search for meaning – and whether an ordinary life might ultimately prove extraordinary after all.

Featuring Stephen Schwartz’s glorious score, including “Magic to Do”, “Corner of the Sky”, “Simple Joys”, “Morning Glow” and “No Time at All”, this iconic show is surprisingly rarely staged, making this a wonderful opportunity to experience it live.

Our production brings together a hugely talented cast, a live band, vibrant choreography and a dedicated creative and technical team to create the strange, seductive and spectacular world of Pippin.

We’ve got magic to do… come and join us!
